TangoNovember: HSGI Taco Mag Pouches (M4, Double Decker)

Let's be clear about one thing, this is a fresh box, zero range time review. I have not put these pouches through any kind of drilling, extended use or target practice of any kind. This is one of those touchy-feely reviews that really irks the likes of people who think they can do it better, but rarely put pen to paper to prove it. I'll be telling you what I think based on what I know so far. If you're at all familiar with TangoNovember as a project, you'll know that we're about a simple thing here - discussion from [...]

Athabasca University: My experiences so far.

By | 2016-08-05T10:41:34+00:00 August 5th, 2016|Blog|4 Comments

Over the last few years, I've undertaken a number of changes. It started with simple stuff and has since moved on to larger, system-wide changes, if you will. Maybe I'll write a blog post on that in a few days or something. One of the largest changes I made by far was the decision to pursue a degree from a university based in Alberta - AU. I'm enrolled in the BA - Information Systems program. My thinking, when trying to decide if the program was worth the thousands of dollars I was bound to spend on it, was twofold. For [...]

Navigating Privacy as a Content Creator

I think I just figured out what kept me up past midnight last night. I want to control my online identity. I want to be able to have control over how I'm presented online. I also want to be able to control what data is taken from me. There's two very distinct things happening with my data here - push and pull. When I make a post here on my blog, I want to be able to control certain elements of that - for example, I want to be able to control the content. I have to be the gatekeeper [...]

By | 2016-08-01T13:07:06+00:00 August 2nd, 2016|Blog|2 Comments

It really shouldn't be any surprise to you that I'm a big fan of guns, pointy objects and nylon tactical gear. My Instagram feed is constantly updated (between the images of lunch plates and dog faces) with gear pics. I used to keep a pretty regular blog, now defunct, on the particular subject of gear reviews and preparedness philosophies. Back in the day, it was called 'civilian sheepdog'. Broken links and all, you're welcome to explore the link above for old reviews and entirely subjective takes on world events. I came up with the idea for Tango November while playing [...]

Month of August – Challenging my self-discipline.

By | 2016-08-01T11:27:10+00:00 August 1st, 2016|Blog|0 Comments

We're here! August has finally arrived and just in time, too. Last night, after disgracing the efforts I've been making to maintain my weight at a fighting-fit 170lbs, I scarfed down basically a million baby cookies - my weakness. I'd said in a post on Facebook recently that for the month of August, I was going to write every single day. Following a marathon of vlog-watching, where I really only follow one vlogger by the name of Robby (his channel here), I became inspired by the tenacity he approaches creativity with. He produces a vlog every day because he loves [...]
